Garden swing canopy

Garden swing canopy While relaxing on your garden swing may be a favorite pastime, it can easily become a burden if you don’t have some kind of a garden swing canopy to protect you and your swing from the elements.

Nothing is worse than trying to enjoy the outdoors, but being unable to because there is too much sun shining on you, not enough shade, too much wind, or even rain falling on top of you and your things.

In order to avoid being uncomfortable while you are in your swing, building a canopy could be a good idea. Building one of these canopy swings yourself could be a nice alternative to trying to find something like a gazebo. While a gazebo could work, they are often flimsy and can sometimes be quite expensive.

Depending on what kind of yard you have, you can build different kinds of canopies for the swing.

In a hillside yard, you will want to dig down about two feet and taper this depth off as you move down the hill. You should make sure to dig wide enough so that if you want to stone or woodwork around the swing and canopy that you can. By putting a little extra decoration around the area, you will have a much nicer finished product when all is said and done.

In a flat yard, you can dig holes for two posts about three feet deep. In order to make the area that you just dug up more attractive, you can plant flowers all around the two posts. Other people have been known to plant buses. It is your choice, but at the least you should put something there for aesthetic purposes.

If you would rather use your garden swing canopy on the deck, you can do that as well. You will need to be able to dig through the existing patio or deck material. Doing so could allow you to remove some extra patio furniture and use the swing instead.
