The snapping deck tiles are made in a variety of wood materials including teak, eucalyptus, shorea, acacia, and ipe. These woods are best suited for outdoor use due to the following characteristics: hardness, resistance to decay, resistance to fungus, resistance to insects, and natural beauty.
When shopping for deck tiles, look for wood that has been carefully kiln-dried prior to production and that has been treated. Also keep in mind that these woods will age to a silvery gray-color over time if left untreated. If you would like to preserve the natural, original look of the wood, it is best to apply an outdoor decking sealant on a regular basis.
