Having
a metal garden chair or chairs in your garden does wonders to help
give the garden a feel of being more modern than a typical garden
would seem. Even though this is true, this can be easily reversed
if your chair is lacking luster from not being properly cared for.
The best thing to do to care for your chairs is to try to avoid getting
into any situation that could potentially have an adverse affect on
them. Just as stones and gravel can chip the paint on an automobile,
the same is true for metal chairs.
That means that you should be careful to avoid hitting any two chairs
together or hitting them on a concrete or rock-type surface. Doing
so will likely lead to chips or scratches on the chairs.
If you have a metal chair on the patio or on a sidewalk or patio
area by the garden, you should make sure that you lift the chairs
up when you move them. If you do not lift up the chairs, it could
scratch the paint from the bottom of the chairs.
When you clean your chairs you should wash the surface with a heavy
duty liquid detergent. Brushing with a big brush is a good idea for
quicker work, but if there are lots of grooves or holes in your metal
garden chair, it could prove to be more effective to use a smaller
brush – like a toothbrush – in those areas.
