After
a long, hard day at the office, cleaning the house, working the fields…
or playing golf, all you want to do is go home and sit in one of your
outdoor wooden
lounge chairs, right? Few things in the world are better than
grabbing a favorite cold beverage, lounging in an outdoor wooden lounge
chair, and watching the sun slip away. Of course, to ensure that you
keep this freedom, you must properly care for your outdoor wooden
lounge chairs.
• Sealant – the sealant you use (or whether you use one
at all and how often you use it) depends on the wood of your outdoor
wooden lounge chairs and the climate you live in. In general, hardwoods
will need something like teak-oil, and softwoods will need a preservative.
Be sure to check the manufacturer’s instructions of both your
outdoor wooden lounge chairs and the sealant.
• Grass – if you must place your outdoor wooden lounge
chairs in grass or somewhere else that is consistently moist, the
be sure to protect the legs. You can either place them up on bricks,
cover them with rubber, or stand the legs of your outdoor wooden lounge
chairs in cups of wood preservative for several hours.
• Clean regularly – you do not want to have to clean off
your outdoor wooden lounge chairs right before you sit in them. Instead,
keep on your cleaning so that they are ready to sit in whenever you
want. Just take a wrung out cloth (with soapy wood cleaner) and rub
down your chairs every few weeks. Make sure to dry them thoroughly.
When you properly care for your outdoor wooden lounge chairs, you
can be sure that they are ready for you to use, whenever you need
a little extra relaxation. To really keep them clean, though, it is
a good idea to wipe them down with a dry cloth every time you use
them. Just keep a cloth on a hook by your patio door!
