are some considerations to keep in mind when shopping for wicker
outdoor furniture:
• Don’t look solely at natural wood wicker outdoor furniture.
Vinyl wicker outdoor furniture and furniture made from other materials
generally last longer and ages better and is easier to care for.
• Make sure the wicker outdoor furniture is comfortable. This
may sound obvious, but it is very important. You do not want to pick
out your furniture based solely on what it looks like – you
want to be sure that it is the sort of furniture that you can spend
hours sitting in, reading a book or chatting with friends.
• Check for gaps, snags, splinters, and tight weaves. This is
especially important if you are purchasing natural wicker outdoor
furniture. You want to be sure that it is made as well as possible
so that it will last as long as possible.
Once you have your wicker outdoor furniture, be sure that you keep
it protected (again, this is especially important if it is made from
natural fibers). Keep it protected beneath a porch, gazebo, or overhang,
etc. Watch out for warm and damp settings (natural fibers can mildew
and warp).
