Wooden garden bench

Wooden garden benchA wooden garden bench might be just the thing that you need to spruce up you garden and make it more inviting. However, if you do not take proper care of the wood, you can be severely disappointed with your purchase.

Many people buy their bench, put it in their garden and are very happy with what they see. For the first few months the bench looks great and you feel like you have made a great purchase.

However, as the months go by, your attitude tends to change if you haven’t pre-treated your wood the way you need to. There are tons of bugs and other insects that love nothing more than to eat away at your new wooden bench.

In order to ensure that the bench stays in good shape for many years, it is important to pre-treat the bench before placing it in your garden. There is treatment that you can use to fortify the wood, kill insects, and preserve color. Using at least one of these treatments would be good, but if you use all three your bench will likely last much longer.

So, if you don’t want to have to switch benches just a few years after buying your first wooden garden bench, then it might be a good idea to pre-treat and avoid problems down the road.
