Wrought iron garden benches

Wrought
iron garden benches are both beautiful and functional additions
to a garden – they are heavy and heavy duty and can last for
many years and multiple generations. Of course, if you want your wrought
iron garden benches to continue to look so good and if you want to
ensure that they have long lives, then you should follow these tips
and notes:
• Cover it – wrought iron garden benches can be awfully
heavy, making it difficult to move them into a shed every season for
protection. If you are unable to move your wrought iron garden benches
out of the elements (even placing them under a porch will help), then
make sure you cover them up with garden furniture covers.
• Protective finish – for the most part, your wrought
iron garden benches will come with a protective finish on them all
ready. It is a hard-wearing, synthetic top-coat, but it will not necessarily
last for ever.
• Bird poop – strong acids, like those found in bird droppings,
can actually wear away the finish, creating weak spots. Therefore,
it is important to clean off your wrought iron garden benches regularly.
• Re-paint – if you find places where the finish has worn
away on your wrought iron garden benches, be sure to repaint them.
Some wrought iron garden benches come with touch-up paint. If not
(or if you lost it), you can go to your local hardware store and find
out what you should use.
• Rust – if you did not catch the spots that needed touch-ups
in time, you may have to deal with rust. Remove the rust by lightly
sanding the area. Then wipe it thoroughly with a clean cloth. Now
you can apply the touch up paint.
• Clean – to clean your wrought iron garden benches, create
a mixture of mild biodegradable soap and water. Rinse it off with
a hose, then dry it off.
By following the abovementioned tips, you should be able to sit on
your wrought iron garden benches for many years to come, enjoying
the growth of your garden.
